Someday Summary - Sunday

My Someday Summary posts will now include photos I've taken throughout the week! I love looking at everyone else's :)

• Last night I changed my blog layout and header. All I wanted to do was change a few individual fonts but for some reason, I wasn't using the simple design and couldn't. I changed to the simple design and had to alter everything! A big thank you to Sophie, from Beauty Comes From Within - She gave me the html codes to make my whole blog layout wider and centre my page tabs :) I changed my blog header to something Summery. The amount of time it took me to find a photo... I may as well start finding photos for the Autumn and Winter headers now!
• I don't know if I want to do English at Uni anymore. This isn't good seeing as I've already applied! I just think I'm not capable.

Someday Summary - Tuesday

I haven't done one of these posts in a while! I really like writing them actually; they're like my diary :)

• I'm not fond of my life and it's been like that for a while, but as of lately, I've been feeling really down and I'm not sure why. I hope I start to feel better soon or I'll need to go on the hunt for some happy pills!

• My exams are about 2 months away. I was meant to start hardcore revision two weeks ago but I've done little since then. I feel like I've let myself down already and if this keeps happening, I'm going to fail my exams and not get into University. This could be the reason why I've been feeling so down actually.

• I have a University open day in about two weeks which gives me a taster of the course I will be studying. Regular readers will know about my fear of meeting new people. Thankfully, I can bring someone with me for the first half and then by the second, I should be fine.

• I'm having doubts about liking Uni. It just sounds so hard and I don't think I'll be able to manage the work.

• Before I started writing this post, I pulled a muscle in my leg and now my cheeks hurt. When I'm in pain, I laugh (Defense thing. Some people do this because laughing apparently eases the pain). Can you imagine if I ever have children? I'll be laughing throughout the whole of my labor. My cheeks will kill!

• I had a few pounds left in my Paypal account so yesterday I ordered China Glaze For Audrey. I've decided to only buy a polish if I haven't yet got a shade like it in my collection. I have nothing like For Audrey; a pale, muted turquoise. I bought it for £4.50-something from Enchanted Beauty Spot; a seller on eBay. Beauty Zone 2007 is another great seller for cheap China Glaze/OPI/Essie etc but they are a little more expensive (Only by about 20p though).

Someday Summary - Saturday

Hello beautiful people! As per usual, I have no idea what I'm about to write.

• In my last Someday Summary, I talked about applying to Marjon University. I've been offered a place there :) As I only need CCC, it's definitely going to be my second choice.
• I think I know what University I want as my first choice; Plymouth. This means my first and second choices are in the city where I live and I can stay at home. This will save me money and if I wanted to, I could always move out in my second year. Falmouth University is beautiful and the course is great but if I got in, I would probably choose my second choice over it so there's really no point in putting it as my first choice. EDIT: I've chosen Plymouth as my first choice and Marjons as my second. I changed Track and everything. No going back now!
• I've made my revision timetable for the upcoming months. I should be able to fit in around 64 hours of revision per exam. It's going to be a lot of work but I've just got to keep thinking that it's only for a few months (& then another 3 years at Uni!)
• I've still not found a May Ball dress, haha. EDIT: I'm not going to May Ball. If I go, I won't be able to afford to go and see Lee Evans and buy people's birthday presents. I'll just hate all the photos of me plastered all over Facebook anyway. Don't want to miss out but what can I do? The £110 that would've gone on May Ball can now go on better things.
• I'm falling in love with Etsy. I find it so much better than eBay. I look at eBay as people selling off any old junk but Etsy sells so many beautiful pieces. The community, website, products, are just better. It's amazing for jewellery. Yesterday (Or the day before; cannot remember) I bought a vintage, long, bronze, leaf necklace. It's beautiful and I cannot wait for it to arrive.
• People who write malicious comments under anonymous = Jealous cowards.
• I love the Upside Down Dogs website. It's a website full of photos of upside down dogs! Here are my favourites:

Someday Summary - Wednesday

I really like writing these, they're like my diary :)

• I was told earlier in the week by my teacher that it is unlikely I will get a B in English. I was so upset. I only chose 4 University options, so I had one more. My friend told me that Marjons (Another University in my city) do English courses. I checked it out and found that there are still places available for my chosen course and I only need three C's. I applied and am now waiting for a response. Hopefully they'll accept me!

• I don't know whether to go to my May Ball. The positive point for going is that everyone in my year is going and I don't want to miss out. However, I'm going to struggle to find money to buy a dress. On top of this, I have to find money for birthday presents and rent. Also, I hate photos of myself and I will hate seeing them plastered over Facebook.

• My last post showed my ASOS/Models Own order. I found out that the Models Own nail art pen brush was bent and un-usable. I didn't really mind because I will mainly use the 'nib' to create dots and fine details, however, I still contacted ASOS about the product being faulty. They replied saying that I don't have to return the item and they will send me a replacement, which should arrive tomorrow. I am very impressed with the customer service I received.

• I had my hair cut today. Nothing too drastic, just a trim and some more layers put in. Layers make my hair more 'flicky' and harder to plait but they give it great shape and volume. My hairdresser cut a few layers bluntly so I finished cutting my hair myself when I got home. I also finished off my sister's hair as she wanted her fringe shorter. I would cut it myself most of the time but I cannot reach the back!

Someday Summary - Friday

Hello all :)

• I got a B in my January Psychology exam! Regular readers will know the struggle I've had with Psychology; I'm good in class but my previous exam results didn't show that. Well this time, I revised. Properly. I wrote everything in my folder out in note form. Hard work really does pay off.

• I got a D in English. I knew I had screwed the exam up so I was expecting it. I screwed it up so much (Changed the question I was answering for the second half three times) that I'm surprised I even got a D. Obviously I'm retaking because I know I can do better.

• My future... Firstly, I don't think I'll get into Uni and if I do, I don't think I'll manage. Also, I'll come out in debt and will the degree really help me get a better job? I know people with degrees who are in the same boat with those without. Saying this, I don't want to finish my A Levels and get a 'regular' job because I feel I cannot improve from this. I don't want to do anything with my life.

• I ordered a Models Own nail polish from eBay and it arrived today... smashed :( This is the second one I've ordered (Different people, different sites) that has smashed. I think it's either the postal service or my house. This is because when the post man drops our post through, it drops to a concrete floor. Just to be sure another one doesn't break because of the concrete floor, I'm putting a box with pillows in under the letterbox. Although it could have been the post man or my floor, I do think that this time it was the sellers fault. The polish wasn't protected well. It had a thin strip of bubble wrap around it and was in a thin, carrier bag like envelope with no built in bubble wrap.

• The Groupon/ASOS offer... you know half of your news feed is going to be about it. If you are not aware of this offer (Which has now ended but I recommend you sign up to Groupon; fantastic discounts), basically you could buy a £20 ASOS voucher for £9, saving £11. You have to spend £21 at ASOS (£20 voucher + £1 of your own money) so you're really spending £10 and getting £10 free. There were 50,000 Groupons sold and even if everybody did just spend that extra £1, ASOS are making £50,000. It's likely that a lot of people will spend more than £21, giving ASOS a nice little profit.

I'm impatient so have already spent mine (Which I may regret if new products arrive). There wasn't much I actually wanted so settled with 3 Models Own polishes (Champagne, Mystic Mauve, Beth's Blue) (Hopefully these will not break in the post!) and the Models Own nail art pen in Black. I would prefer white but they didn't have it.

So I bought 2 Models Own polishes for £10 and received another polish and art pen for free.

Someday Summary - Sunday

Hello all! Not much to update you with this week (To be honest there never is!).

• One of my tweets is in Reveal magazine this week; my 2 seconds of fame ;) haha
• I've made progress with my Media coursework (Finally!). All the layouts and writing for the magazine are done, I just need photos. The photos are a huge part though and I don't have long to take and edit them!
• I went in town today and really wanted five 17 nail polishes and two blushers. I didn't buy any though because I thought 'I have similar colours'. It was so hard resist but I did it!
• I only bought a few things so there is no point in giving them a whole post. Here's what I bought:

Primark socks, £2 for three pairs. How cute are these?!

MUA Eye Shadows, shades 8 and 11, £1 each. I bought shade 8 for my mum (Click here to see a swatch, along with swatches of shades 1 and 6). Shade 11 is just beautiful and very pigmented.

I also bought some Original Source Lime shower gel (A favourite of mine) and a bigger plant pot for one of my cacti.

Someday Summary

I haven't written one of these posts in a few weeks so I thought I'd update you. My life has been pretty boring actually so I don't know what I'm going to write.

• Remember I had an interview at Falmouth University? I wrote a whole post about it. Well the following day they offered me a conditional. In the prospectus, they said they wanted 220 UCAS points (Which would work out as CCD) but on the letter they sent me, they want me to get a B in English and Media. I have conditionals for all my choices but they all want me to get a B in English which is going to be hard. I don't think I'm going to get into University and don't know what I'm going to do with my life.

• I'm behind on my Media coursework and English coursework. I need to take my own photos for my Media magazine to get a good grade. I don't have many friends and am not close to any guys who are suitable to take photos of (Need a guy on the cover of my magazine). Also, my sister has only just agreed to have her photo taken for a few of the pages. English... I've transcribed 3 out of 4 films but have had trouble downloading the 4th (Beauty and The Beast) because our internet connection went. This has delayed me transcribing it, delaying me creating the data graphs, delaying me writing the essay that has to be in Friday. I'm going to have to ask for more time.

• My friend got us Lee Evans tickets for August. I've never been to see someone famous (Have never even been to a concert :() so I'm excited!

• As well as saving up to pay for the ticket, I have to save up for a sixth form leavers hoodie, May Ball dress, shoes etc...

• I need to make my blog more personal and I know people like OOTDs and FOTDS. I hate having my photo taken and have boring clothes but I am going to try and do an OOTD/FOTD once a week (The next week is going to be super busy so I'll have to see if I can do one).

Someday Summary - Photos by me!

What to update you with this week...

• I had an English exam Wednesday and a Psychology exam today. English was hard! Teachers said it was a tough paper this year. I know I've screwed it up so that's another retake in the Summer! Psychology was OK. I'm glad I'm not confident about it because last time I was confident, I didn't do so well.

• I have a Falmouth University interview on the 16th February. This includes a group discussion. I am terrified! If I do it, I will be so proud of myself. Going to buy an outfit next week as I have no smart clothes. I'm thinking smart shorts and tights with a classic white shirt.

• I'm getting my provisional driving license photo taken tomorrow. I'm going to take extra care with my hair and make-up! Cannot wait for my provisional to arrive, can then buy alcohol and go in town
  (Have no other ID, boo!)... as well as learn to drive haha.

There isn't much else to tell you really. This week's photos are my own! I really like my new camera, it produces some nice detailed photos. I have used Picnik to create the effects. I love that website so much!

Someday Summary

• I have exams coming up so I have began to increase my revision hours. Yesterday I revised Psychology for 3 hours and wrote an English essay, very productive!

• It was also a productive day yesterday because I bought my May Ball dress (Year 13 prom):

It's from TFNC London and was £25 down from £50, bargain! I'm hoping it fits and if it doesn't, I've seen a few dresses from Lipsy I like. As you can guess from the name, my prom is in May so I'm very prepared! Thank you to the girls on Twitter who were helping me look (And persuaded me to buy the dress!)

• My 18th birthday is in 11 days. I'm not doing anything because I think going for a meal with friends would be boring as I do it every year. This year I'm just having a Chinese with my mum, dad and sister. Oh and I'm having a three tower cheesecake birthday cake! I love cheesecake you see :)

• Media is getting on my nerves. As I previously mentioned, I have exams this month but my Media teachers want us to hand in our Coursework essay and a draft of our practical. This is going to be impossible. The other teacher has also given us an essay, grrr.

Someday Summary

Haven't wrote one of these for a few weeks because my life is boring! This post is about the little things that have amused me which I want to share with you :)

• It's finally snowed in the South West! It was coming down heavy earlier but has now stopped. We should have a lot more tomorrow morning.

• My new loves. These are my Newlook '32in Crinkle Skinny Jean' £19.99. I'm not sure what colour I have but I think they're either Klein Blue or Blue Pattern. The picture does not do them justice at all! They're not crinkly on the knees, that's just where I've been wearing them.

• This is what one of my best friends Kelly got me for Christmas. It is a Poinsettia, the leaves turn red at Christmas/Winter time. I love it :) I now have 9 plants in my windowsill haha

• Another friend got me the most useful Christmas present. She knows I want to paint my room so she got me paint and painting accessories ^. The paint is with her at the moment because it was too heavy to bring in!

• We had a student from Plymouth University (My first choice) come in and talk to us, basically about everything. It scared me to death and I didn't want to go Uni, but afterwards I spoke to her and asked questions, which made me feel better :)
• Falmouth University is the one University I haven't heard from yet (The rest giving me conditionals) and they want to do an interview. I am terrified as I haven't done one before. All the other Universities didn't need to interview me.

• I am now on Christmas holidays which normally is a good time but this year I have to revise for my January exams and do my Media coursework. I'm planning on doing 2-3 hours of revision each day. I'm so annoyed with Media because it's getting in the way of my revision.

Hello my lovelies! Hope you're doing well :)

This week has been a happier one for me, woop!

Purchase of the week:

Sleek haul and Nubar 2010 (Which has already arrived). Later today I might do a quick preview post on Nubar 2010 because I have some photos, but I would like to get better ones :)

Sleek's 50% off sale... woaaah, what a curfuffle! Because thousands of people were trying to get on the site, it was going extremely slow, kept crashing and was emptying baskets. Sleek received a lot of abuse, which I think was unfair (But then again, people were trying to order for hours/days so I can understand their annoyance) and they were giving us 50% off! We're lucky we got anything at all! Sleek were kind enough to give us an extra day of the sale. Next time I think they should give each time zone a different sale day, then we're not going to have America, United Kingdom and Europe all trying to get on the site at once.

Food of the week:

Not technically a food but BBQ sauce! So good!

High point of the week:

I've had quite a few actually :) I received a cardigan and silver button necklace from Tesco, my Nubar 2010 arrived (I keep mentioning this haha) and this morning I received a hugeee package from Superdrug. Included was 6 Maybelline lipsticks, 2 Maybelline eyeshadows, Maybelline mascara, 7 Mememe nail polishes, 4 Collection 2000 mascaras and 4 Collection 2000 felt tip eyeliner pens. Reviews coming soon (Lipsticks reviewed in previous post)

Oh and I've made $22.20 commission from people using my Sigma link when purchasing! I'm so happy!

Another high from this week is Psychology! This has been in my low points for weeks and although I haven't improved much yet, I'm making progress. I won a game in Psychology as I answered all the questions right and although this doesn't seem like a big deal, it is to me. Another thing is that I had my first mentor meeting with my Psychology teacher Thursday (One on one help) and we decided that my good qualities are: I understand the work, I'm focused in class and I'm organised. My bad quality is that I'm not motivated at home, so we've come up with a few techniques to help this :)

I don't actually know what I'm going to write, my life has been quite boring this week.

Hmm well I got another conditional offer :) From Brighton University.

Now for the bad:

My dad doesn't think I'll get into Uni.

Failing Psychology (This point will come up until my grades improve haha)

Everyone I know who is 17/18, look their age. I don't look my age at all. Because of my fat cheeks, I look about 14. :(

& I have nothing else to say haha, there's nothing going on in my life at the mo!

These are getting a little repeated so next week I'll switch things up a bit... not sure how but I'll think of that when the time comes :P

A purchase from the week:

Nothing, but tomorrow I'm purchasing my trusty Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer (Current one has lasted well over four months!) and a wash in wash out dye to brighten my locks.

Update:

This is something no one will care about but I bought a flask Friday so now I can take tea and soup to school! This is going to be a life saver as it's been so cold recently!

A high point from the week:

I got a conditional offer from Plymouth University. This is good... but I need the grades to get in and at the moment I'm not feeling confident about that.

A low point from the week:

I'm failing Psychology :( Keep getting E's so really need to revise LOADS or else I won't get into University.

Another low point is that this week I have 2 essays to write...

Oh and another (They keep on coming don't they!) is right in the middle of my January exams, I have a HUGE Media essay to write for my coursework and I also have to create a magazine. It's going to get in the way of revision... + I need to take photos in sunny weather and I doubt we'll get that in December/January.

Someday Summary

This week has gone fast! Was going to do this tomorrow but I'm busy and couldn't wait until Sunday! Friday is still the weekend :P

A purchase from the week:

7 ASOS nail paints- Most of the colours were re stocked and for a pound I couldn't resist! Colours I ordered were: Orange, Blue, Pink, Purple, Green, Red and Wine Red (Hopefully perfect for Winter.)

I also went to Asda earlier (I love going food shopping!) and got a travel mug (To keep your drinks hot) for £2! and a nice big box of chocolates for my friends birthday... £2.25! Crazy right? Oh and I bought some skin coloured tights and a tube of fake blood for Halloween :)

A high point from the week:

I won Onemorelipstick's MAC give away! I've chosen Shroom eye shadow and Angel lipstick :)

A low point from the week:

Hmmm I'm pretty happy at the moment so can't remember. I have bad skin though!

Weekend plans:

Saturday: Drinks around a friends and then were heading to an 18th birthday party!

Sunday: Recovering haha!

I've sent off my Ucas application! This means I have officially applied to University :)

A purchase from the week:

2 ASOS nail paints for £1 each! Olivia: A bright orange and Lauren: A sky blue. I wanted more but all the other shades have sold out :/

Food of the week:

Peanut butter on toast! Have ate it everyday for two weeks...

A high point from the week:

All of my educational things have been paid for so I should be able to buy my Winter clothes soon!

A low point from the week:

Only having two pairs of jeans, two pairs of shoes and two hoodies to wear.
