Summer Bargains

Hello, all! I feel like I haven't blogged about my beauty or clothing purchases for a while, so thought I'd show you the things I've bought in recent months. As you can see, I haven't bought much at all. This is because I've been buying books, crafts and items for my room. Also, if I have bought a beauty product, I have shown you it in a post already, so didn't feel the need to include it in a haul. As I was gathering the above items, I realised that all of them are appropriate for the Summer months, and all but one of them was bought with an offer.
Let's start with the Superdrug order I placed over a month ago. Superdrug had an amazing offer on the sun lotions (I know they don't come under the 'beauty' category, but I still wanted to include them). Selected products were half price and then buy one get one free. They also had free delivery, so I just had to order! So, for the Nivea Sun Invisible Protection Spray and the Nivea Sun Spray, I paid £7.15, including delivery. Around £3.50 per bottle is a bargain, considering they're between £12 and £15 each when they're full price. I've tried them a couple of times and like them. I'm really not fussy when it comes to sun lotion though. As well as the sun lotions, I bought the Simple Kind To Skin Sun Kissed Moisture Cream for £4. I've used this a couple times a week for a month and I really like it. It gives me a subtle, natural glow and makes me look healthy.
The next order I placed was with ASOS. I bought Models Own Fluro' Orange nail polish for £3.50 in the sale (I blogged about it here) and a skinny, lilac waist belt for £3, which was also in the sale. I was unsure what size to get, but I bit the bullet and went with a small. The smallest hole on the small belt is perfect, so I'm glad I'm not any slimmer! I also bought some other things, but they're for a birthday present.
The last item I bought, which arrived this morning, are these New Look chino shorts. These were an absolute bargain! They were originally £17.99, but were in the sale for £5.40. Then, I had my student discount and a free delivery code, so altogether, I paid £4.86 for them. They fit perfectly, just like all of my other New Look shorts. I can't wait for the sun to come out now.

So, they are all the beauty and clothing items I have recently bought. It's not much, but I didn't have the patience to wait until I bought more things to blog about them.
I'm off to make cheese straws (The recipe will be up shortly). Thank you for reading!

Lots of lovely things - Beauty, clothes, The Hunger Games and more

I didn't realise how much I've bought in the last few weeks until I gathered it all together - Oops!

Bourjois So Delicate lip creams in Rose Poudre and Fuchsia Delicate £3.95 each from CheapSmells.com, Lush Magic Mushroom bubble bar £2.45, Lush Magic Wand bubble bar £2.50 from eBay, Models Own nail art pen in White £6 from ASOS.com, Yankee Candle Fluffy Towels Car Jar £1.69 from eBay, Yankee Candle Vanilla Cupcake 12 Tea Lights £6.45 from eBay, Yankee Candle Fluffy Towels and Country Lemonade Samplers £1something from Clinton Cards, Collection 2000 Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner £2.99 from Superdrug, Collection 2000 Cream Puff Moisturising Lip Cream in Cotton Candy £2.99 from Superdrug, Collection 2000 Cream Puff Moisturising Lip Cream in Fairy Cake £1.35 from eBay and My Blue Nose Friend - Runner the Ostrich £5 from Clinton Cards

That list is huge! Sorry about that. Where shall I start...
I LOVE the Collection 2000 lip creams. I'm not a lip product person, but I've been wearing these every day. I don't like the packaging of the Bourjois lip creams - it looks cheap and tacky in my opinion.
On Tuesday, there was a £5 off eBay code going around the internet (one per PayPal account). I made the most of this and used mine, my sister's and my dad's accounts. With my account, I bought the Lush Magic Wand bubble bar, which I've wanted for a while. I only paid £2.50, including P&P, for it! With my sister's account, I bought the Collection 2000 lip cream in Fairy Cake for just £1.35, and on my dad's account, I bought a Lush Each Peach massage bar for just 75p! It hasn't arrived yet though. I tried using the code for a second time on my account and bought the Yankee Candle Car Jar and tea lights. Unfortunately though, the code didn't work, so I had to pay full price for them. I'm not allowed to burn candles, but can't help myself sometimes! I just like to smell them :)

Superdrug - TRESemme Naturals Vibrantly Smooth shampoo & conditioner £2.70 each (half price), Original Source Lime shower gel 99p, Eyelash Curlers £1.99, Pencil Sharpener £1.89 and Emery Boards 99p each

I already have enough shampoo to last me about 4 months, but I couldn't resist the half price offer. ELF's eyelash curlers and pencil sharpener are still out of stock, so I bought the boring, yet practical, products from Superdrug instead.

New Look - Navy plimsolls £6.99, socks 3 pairs for £4

I love the white stripes at the bottom of these plimsolls.
Of course, I had to buy more socks!

Primark long shorts £10

I love these! I had a very similar Primark pair and wore them all the time. After about four years of wear though, the button popped off and was unfixable. The detail on these is beautiful. They have a floral lining, floral buttons and cute floral studs near the pockets. The labels are also pretty.

Card Factory gift tubes £1.29 each

I'm going to use these for my bath bombs and bubble bars :)

The Hunger Games book £4.48 from Amazon

I finished this book last night, after constantly reading for five hours. I shed a tear, couldn't put it down and was sad when I reached the end - All signs of a great book. The only bad thing about a good book though is that you deprive your body of food and sleep, and put it through an emotional roller coaster!
I've just ordered the next two books in the trilogy; Catching Fire and Mockingjay. I'll be happy to be reunited with the characters, but I know they're going to be put through hell again :/ I know it's all fictional, but you can't help forming an emotional connection with them!

They see me haulin

They hatin, patrolling, they tryin to catch me spendin dirty.
Yes, I did just quote and tweak the lyrics of that song (and I may have sang my version over five times).
Now that I've completed my assignments, I have some time to blog! I have a few posts coming up, but first, I wanted to show you what I've been buying over the past few weeks.

LUSH:

Sweet Soap of Mine stack £5.25, Snow Globe soap £2.50 per 100g, Porridge soap £2.95 per 100g, Australian Igloo sugar scrub £2.75, Avobath bath bomb £2.99.
Some of these are gifts from people and some are my own purchases. Snow Globe smells SO good! It's fresh, citrusy and sheberty smelling. I rarely have baths, but I repurchased Avobath because it's amazing. It smells delicious (just like Snow Globe because they both have lemongrass in) and it leaves your bath a beautiful lime green colour.

Superdrug:

Maybelline One by One mascara £8.49, MUA clear mascara £1, Accessorize blush in Sensational £5, Biore nose strips £4.06 (half price), Impulse body sprays 95p each (half price).
The Maybelline mascara is a repurchase because I loveee it. I bought another Accessorize blush because I use my current ones everyday. Sensational is a warm pink and really brightens up your complexion.

Blog Sale:
Sleek Pout Paints in Rosette, Milkshake and Minx £1.50 each.
I bought these from Siobhan just because they were a bargain! They're easy to use and I just dab them on with my finger to create a stain.

ASDA:
TRESemme: Salon Silk shampoo and conditioner, Restructuring Deep Conditioning Treatment Masque 3 for £10.
I really like TRESemme products. They're one of the few brands that work well with my hair. The conditioning treatment smells of mayonnaise, but thankfully, it doesn't leave your hair smelling like it!

Amazon:
My Blue Nose Friends: Needles the Woolly Mammoth, Quiver the Emperor Penguin RRP £5 each.
I had an Amazon voucher so actually paid nothing for these! I now have nine of the little cuties.

H&M:
Bambi make-up bag £2.99.
How adorable is this?!

Wilkinsons:
Apple ceramic pot £2.50.
I couldn't resist! I have a thing for apple shaped items at the moment.

Primark:
Footlets £1.50, Seamless Footies £1, Vanilla Snow candle £1.

New Look:

Socks £3.58 for all three pairs (originally £1.99 each), dolly shoes £9.35 (originally £12.99).
New Look had 3 for 2 on their socks and free delivery, as well as the usual 10% off for students. They're so cute! I bought the hamster ones because I always joke that I look like a hamster (because of my fat cheeks).  I then placed a second order because New Look had 20% off and free delivery again. I had a sudden urge to buy some red dolly shoes and I don't regret it because they'll add some colour into my boring outfits.

Tesco:
Boots £12.50.
These are a complete bargain! I find it hard to find boots I like because I only like a particular style; suede looking, slouchy ankle boots. I only like a certain type of brown shade too. I don't like bright, chestnut brown and prefer them to be quite dark, like the boots above.

ASOS:

Cath Kidston: Oil Cloth Book Bag £11.50 (originally £18), Cotton Book Bag £10 (originally £16), Zip Top Purse £3.50 (originally £6).
A few weeks ago, ASOS had a sale on their bags and because I'd been looking for shopper bags for University, I placed two in my virtual basket. I've been using the first one because I absolutely love the print and it is waterproof, so is handy for the horrible weather we've been having! The purse was for my sister. We were expecting it to be purse sized because 1. It's called a purse and 2. The website makes it look really small. However, when it arrived, it was the size of a make-up bag! I'm not too bothered though because I can use it for something else or give it to someone as a gift.

Shop! (Superdrug, Aussie, The Body Shop and Tesco stationery)

I thought I'd show you what I've bought within the last week. The stationery isn't pretty or exciting, but may be useful to someone!

Superdrug:
Superdrug Kids pear detangling spray 99p, Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-in Conditioner, Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Deep Conditioner 2 for £4.99

The Body Shop:
Hair brush £4 (Originally £8), Satsuma body butter 50ml £2.50 (Originally £5)
There have been a few codes going around which entitle you to 50% off The Body Shop website. They also had free delivery so I couldn't pass it up! I already own a couple The Body Shop brushes and really like them.

Tesco:
Zebra print folder £1, blue folder 60p
I want some pretty ones, but these will do for now!

400 sheet Pukka pads £1.90 each
I was going to buy some Oxford pads, but you get a lot more paper with these and the quality is very similar.

50 subject dividers £2, 50 punch pockets £1

Clear pencil cases 39p each, highlighters 85p, sticky index markers £1
I do find it a little ridiculous that the index markers are more than the highlighters, seeing as they're just paper!

I still need to get pens and a memory stick. I use Papermate biros, which come in packs of 10. I usually get them from Asda (£1 a pack) but they've stopped selling them! I know that Rymans sell them though.
Asda are selling 4GB memory sticks for £5, which is quite good, but I have my eye on a turtle shaped one from Comet haha. It's £12-15 though so I'll probably just get a cheap one.

Primark:
 Shoes £3

Primark and Peacocks:
Primark bow hair clips £1, Peacocks bow hair clips £3

Wilkinsons:
Razors £1.98, Cotton wool 2 for £1

I have a Naked body/skin/hair care haul coming up, as well as Liz Earle and GlossyBox reviews.

Superdrug Colour Effects Wash In, Wash Out Conditioning Colour in Rich Red

Superdrug Colour Effects Wash In, Wash Out Conditioning Colour in Rich Red 6:4
Price: 99p

'Colour Effects will add beautiful tones to your hair whilst leaving it in great condition and with a fantastic
shine. Rich red adds warm red tones to light brown to mid brown hair.'

Just to clarify, this is not a dye. It's a tint which will fade after a few washes.

You ready?

Looks scary doesn't it!

I applied this just like I would with a hair dye; wet hair and then comb the product through.
I used around half of the tube as I have really long, thick hair.
It says to leave on between 5 and 20 minutes. You will not get any results if you leave it on for 5 minutes so leave it on for the minimum of 20 minutes.

When rinsing the colour, the water goes bright orange which to most will seem scary and this phrase will run through your head: 'I don't want Ginger hair!'
I didn't have this worry because I already have Ginger hair haha.

Before and After:

My hair is actually darker than what it shows in the photos. My true hair colour is close to the shade at the bottom of the photos.

I really like it! It's brightened my locks and now I am closer to being a true redhead . This does only last a few washes but you can get a few applications out of one tube so it should last you longer. It also helps you decide whether the shade suits you and then you can think of going semi permanent or permanent.
This product is great if you want to 'add' to your hair colour for a party, wedding etc. + it's only 99p! You can get a couple to last a few weeks.

There are other colours including a couple blondes and brunettes.

Again, this does not colour your hair but brightens and adds tones (Of the colour you've chosen) to your hair.

Today's purchases

I like reading posts like this because it shows you the bits and bobs available and on offer (Websites don't show a lot of products)
So I hope you like them too!

^ All from Superdrug
Superdrug shower gels 2 for £1.50
Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-in Conditioner £3.45 - My favourite leave in conditioner ever!
Colour Effects Wash In Wash Out Conditioning Colour (Rich Red) 99p - This brightens your hair and adds tones of whatever colour you have picked (In this case, red). This comes out within a few washes.
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer £3.99 - My favourite concealer, have just ran out after using it for months!

At the beginning of the store, where you pay, I saw Vaseline Rosy Lips in a stick (I'm assuming it's a new product because it said 'new'). I love Rosy Lips but hate tin lip balms so this will be great. Unfortunately I had no money left but my sister is going in town today and if she has any money spare she said she would pick one up for me :)

GOSH Bronzing Shimmer Brush Review

This is GOSH's Bronzing Shimmer Brush which is new to the range. The price is £9.

The photos above show the brush, and the cap that covers the brush, making it easier to put the lid on.

Here are a few swatches:

& heavily swatched:

The product is gorgeous; finely milled bronze shimmer (As the name suggests!) which reflects the light beautifully.
The only thing I don't like about this product is the brush. This is no surprise as most 'built in' brushes aren't of great quality.
The brush isn't as soft as I would like but I'm willing to over look this as the product itself is great.

You can buy GOSH cosmetics in Superdrug stores and online

Thank you for reading :)
