The Body Shop Coconut Beautifying Oil

The Body Shop Coconut Beautifying Oil 100ml - £9

After trying the Palmer's Moisturising Body Oil (Review can be found here), I just had to try another. I had been looking at The Body Shop ones for a while, so when an offer came along, I added the coconut variety to my basket. This body oil is very similar to the Palmer's one. It absorbs into my skin incredibly well and doesn't leave a greasy residue (Body oils seem to be less oily than body butters!). It's less greasy than the Palmer's one, which is good, but it doesn't leave my skin as soft and moisturised. It still does a better job than some of my body butters though. The scent is amazing - It smells just like coconut and reminds me of Summer.
£9 for 100ml is expensive, especially when the Palmer's one is £5 for 250ml, but The Body Shop always have offers on, so you will never have to pay the full price of £9. At the moment, The Body Shop's body products are 40% off, making the body oils £5.40.
If you want a cocoa butter scented body oil, I would favour Palmer's over The Body Shop's, but if you would like another scent, I would definitely have a look at what The Body Shop have to offer. They offer a range of scents, such as mango, strawberry, sweet lemon, pink grapefruit and more.

The Body Shop Treats and Discount Code

The Body Shop and their offers! I think they have the best offers around, and because they're so frequent, I never pay full price for the products I want. The offer this time was 'spend £50, get £25 off' and 'free delivery on all orders'. So, basically, the products were half price. I took advantage of this deal the last time it was on - You can see the goodies I bought then here. I do think The Body Shop is overpriced, so I always wait for an irresistible deal.

The first item I added to my basket was the Coconut Beautifying Oil. After trying the Palmer's Moisturising Body Oil (Review can be found here), I wanted to try another, and I knew the coconut scent would be delicious. This is £9 full price, which is so overpriced, especially since you receive 100ml of product (Unlike Palmer's 250ml). However, a body oil does go a long way, so I still think this product will last for a decent amount of time.

Next, I bought the Coconut and Mango Body Mists. Again, you receive 100ml of product. These are £7 full price. They smell amazing! And, to my surprise, last for a few hours. I was going to buy some of their new floral sprays, but I prefer fruity scents, so knew for definite that I would like these.

I also bought the Mango Body Butter, along with the Sweet Lemon Body Butter. I normally favour Boots Extracts body butters, because they're cheaper, but these worked out to be even cheaper with the offer. You can buy mango body butters from many brands, but sweet lemon isn't as common, so I was most excited about receiving that one.

To make it up to £50, I also bought some Organic Cotton Pads (£2.50 full price), but didn't feel the need to photograph them. I was going to buy a soap to make up the total, but I know I'll use and finish the pads. Finally, as a freebie, I received a 60ml bottle of the Rainforest Volumising Conditioner.

I've just been on The Body Shop's website and there's another offer on! For 40% off your online order, use code X451. This offer ends at 12pm on the 1st August (Tomorrow!). Happy shopping!

New Favourites

I thought I'd start writing 'New Favourites' posts instead of 'Current Favourites' or 'Monthly Favourites' because my favourites stay the same. These products are the products that have entered my 'favourite products' category. If you would like to see my other current favourites or monthly favourites, just read my previous posts :)

Treacle Moon - One Ginger Morning Shower Gel 500ml - £2.99 from Tesco
This smells like lime Starbursts! I love it so much. So much so that it's up there with the Original Source Lime Shower Gel - My all time favourite.

Palmers - Cocoa Butter Formula Lotion 200ml - £3.77 from Boots
I don't regularly moisturise my body, but when I do, I like an intense moisturiser. I normally prefer body butters, but this lotion is thick and moisturises just as well. The scent may be too sweet and heavy for the Summer months, but I still love it.

Exfoliating gloves - Mine were a couple of pounds from Superdrug, but you can get these from any Supermarket.
I've been using these to exfoliate my face a couple times a week and my face has never been so smooth and soft. Then, at night, I use an intense moisturiser or balm. It's doing wonders for my skin.

The Body Shop - Hand Cleanse Gels 60ml - £2.50 each
I've reviewed these here. Beautiful, true to name scents that are not alcoholic. Love them!

Lush - Vanilla Puff Dusting Powder 50g - £4.50
I've reviewed this here. I've mainly been using this as a dry shampoo, and it works brilliantly. The powder is fine, so it doesn't leave you with grey hair, and the scent is of a 'grown up' vanilla.

The Body Shop - Vitamin E Moisture Cream 50ml - £9
Every morning, before I apply my concealer, I use this under my eyes. It's light and sinks in well. I prefer using pots of moisturiser for some reason.

The Body Shop - Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream 50ml - £11
I've reviewed this here. You know I said I use an intense moisturiser just now? This is the one I've been using. It feels like silk, absorbs well and leaves your skin incredibly soft.

ELF - Small Mineral Booster 5.1g - £5
I've just checked their website and this has increased in price! The small pot used to be £3.50 and the large pot was £5, but now the small pot is £5 and the large pot is £7. This leaves my skin looking matte and feeling soft, but I don't know if I'm going to repurchase it now. I think I'll repurchase it when they have a code floating around.

Figs & Rouge Balms - Pomegranate 17ml and Rambling Rose 8ml - £4.95 and £3.50 from Super Smoocher (Feel Unique and Boots also sell them)
I've reviewed these here. Beautiful packaging, delicious scents and very moisturising. They are also 100% natural and organic.

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream

I don't regulary moisturise, but when I do, I like to use an intense moisturiser, even though I have normal-oily skin. This is where The Body Shop Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream comes in. The cream is thick, feels like silk and leaves your skin incredibly moisturised. Although it's thick, it sinks in well and doesn't leave a greasy residue on the skin. I use this product at night, but you could use it during the day because of the factors I've just mentioned. The full price of this cream is £11, which I wouldn't pay myself (You guys know I'm not keen on paying over £10 for a beauty product!). I bought this when it was half price. The Body Shop regulary have offers on and codes floating around, so you can probably buy it for less, too.

The Body Shop Hand Cleanse Gels

Strawberry, Mango, Coconut, Sweet Lemon and Pink Grapefruit

Price: £2.50 each (The Body Shop always has offers on and codes floating around though, so you can probably buy them for less. I've never paid more than £1.50 for each of these.)

I love these hand gels! When I first saw them, I thought they would leave my hands sticky, because of the fruity fragrances, but they don't at all. They don't have a strong alcoholic scent either, but natural, true to name ones. My current favourite is the coconut one. The scent lasts on your skin, so it smells like you're wearing a beautiful Summer fragrance. There is also a Satsuma variant, but I have yet to purchase that one. I would definitely recommend these (I've bought my sister a couple as part of her birthday present!).

Products I'm currently using in my shower

I rarely change my routine, so the following products are products I have been using for a while, and I will probably continue to use them for months to come.

Hair
Aussie Aussome Volume shampoo, Aussie Take the Heat 3 Minute Miracle Deep Treatment and TRESemme Salon Silk shampoo & conditioner.
My hair loves Aussie and TRESemme. Come to think about it, 90% of the hair products I use are by them. I'm probably going to stick to these brands because I don't want to risk trying another brand and it not working for me. Herbal Essences and Head & Shoulders, I'm looking at you!
I won the Aussie Aussome Volume shampoo. I usually go for moisture ranges, but this is working well.
I want to try the TRESemme Naturals range next, but I won't have to buy any shampoo or conditioner for a while because the 900ml bottles last agesss!

Body
Lush soap (top to bottom: Angel's Delight, Ice Blue and Snow Globe), Wilkinson shower puff and Original Source shower gel in Lime and Lemon & Tea Tree.
I'm showing you some of my unused Lush soap because the chunks in my shower are small and manky, to be quite honest.
The Wilkinson shower puff was about 40p and it has a sucker on it, which is very useful.
I love Original Source shower gel. After these, I will be using the Golden Pineapple and Vanilla Milk & Raspberry varieties (Have already gone through a few bottles of Vanilla Milk & Raspberry - It's delicious!)

Face
The Body Shop Vitamin E Facial Cleansing Bar, Lush Ocean Salt (review to come), Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser and Liz Earle Gentle Face Exfoliator.
I don't have much of a facial routine. I use these products in the shower and moisturise my face before applying make-up.
I use The Body Shop Vitamin E Facial Cleansing Bar and Lush Ocean Salt together, and when I want something more gentle, I use the Liz Earle products. The Vitamin E bar and Ocean Salt together is cheaper than one of the Liz Earle products, so I'm more likely to repurchase these (I've repurchased the Vitamin E bar three times because it's highly effective and only £3).
Before starting my third Vitamin E bar, I was using The Body Shop's Tea Tree Foaming Cleanser, but the scent was so strong, I went back to my trusty soap!

The Body Shop order

At the weekend, The Body Shop had yet another offer on, and I couldn't resist. I know I wouldn't have bought these products if it wasn't for the offer, so I haven't really saved any money, but I don't care! The offer was 'spend £30 and get £10 off your order, spend £40 and get £15 off your order or spend £50 and get £25 off your order'. So you could have spent £25 and received £40 worth of products, or spent £25 and received £50 worth of products. Hmm guess which one I went for! The total of the products below would have came to £50.25, but I only paid £25.25. It was also 'buy one get one half price' on skincare, so I saved even more.

Strawberry Gift Bags - £5 each in the sale (originally £10 each)
It was stated that the offer excluded sale items, but that wasn't the case! So I roughly paid about £2.50 for each of these. I really recommend checking out The Body Shop gift sets after Christmas. When they're in the sale, they're a complete bargain. I bought one for a birthday present and one for a Christmas present (I'm on the ball!).

Tea Tree Foaming Cleanser - £4.50
I love foaming cleansers, so thought I'd try this one. With the 'buy one get one half price' and 'save £25' offer, this worked out to be around £1.12.

Vitamin E Face Mist - £7
This is one of those products that isn't a necessity and I wouldn't pay full price for, but thought this was the perfect opportunity to try it. This is going in my bag for those hot days.

Vitamin E Moisture Cream and Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream - £9 and £11
I prefer pots of moisturiser to tubes, even if they are more unhygienic. I moisturise my eye area in the mornings, before I apply concealer, and I always reach for a pot.

Pomegranate & Raspberry Body, Room & Linen Spritz - £6
This is in a glass bottle! It feels so fancy. I also love the oddly long, thin bottle. It smells fresh and fruity, without being sickly. The only downside to this product is that the scent doesn't last that long.

Strawberry and Mango Hand Cleanse Gels - £2.50 each
These smell delicious! Like the body butters. They're not too expensive either, so I want to buy the coconut and pink grapefruit varieties next.

I've been spending money, yet again!

I bought a lot of the following things weeks ago, but I never got round to posting about them!

Boots - 17 Wild Metallics cream eyeshadow in Wild Nude - £3.99
I rarely wear eyeshadow, but I thought this would slowly ease me into wearing it because it's a subtle, day time shade.

eBay (Joy017) - NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Iced Mocha and NYX Concealer in a Jar in Green - Around £3.50 including P&P and around £5.40 including P&P
I've been using the Jumbo Eye Pencil on my lower lash line and then applying a taupe eyeshadow over the top. I needed another green concealer, so I thought I would try this :) I highly recommend this eBay seller. Great prices and fast delivery from America.

The Body Shop - Inflatable Bath Pillow and Vitamin E Facial Cleansing Bar - Originally £8 and £3
The Body Shop had yet another discount code floating around (this time it entitled you to 30% off) so I thought it was the perfect time to get what I needed. The bath pillow is one of my dad's Christmas presents. He's really hard to get for, so I tend to buy him things I know he'll get a lot of use out of. The cleansing bar is my favourite cleanser and is my third one!

Claire's Accessories - Ladybird and fish earrings - £3.50 and £6.50
I love the ladybird earrings and have been wearing them a lot recently, which makes a change because I haven't worn earrings in over a year. The fish earrings are part of my sister's Christmas present :)

H&M - Basic cardigans - £9.99 each
I was looking for some basic blue cardigans for ageesss, so was delighted to see some in H&M for a great price. These have been getting a lot of wear because blue is my favourite colour.

Primark - Thick tights - £3 (I also bought some other thick cotton tights, which were down to £1.90)
I am really impressed with these tights! They're very opaque. A lot of tights I've tried in the past haven't been very opaque once they've stretched around your legs.

I've also just got a new bed (my Christmas present from my parents). For it, I've bought a new duvet, two duvet cover sets and two fitted sheets. I still need to buy some new pillows, a valance, lamp and fairy lights. Here is a phone camera snap shot of one of the duvet covers:

It's from Tesco and was £13.

Shop! (Superdrug, Aussie, The Body Shop and Tesco stationery)

I thought I'd show you what I've bought within the last week. The stationery isn't pretty or exciting, but may be useful to someone!

Superdrug:
Superdrug Kids pear detangling spray 99p, Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-in Conditioner, Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Deep Conditioner 2 for £4.99

The Body Shop:
Hair brush £4 (Originally £8), Satsuma body butter 50ml £2.50 (Originally £5)
There have been a few codes going around which entitle you to 50% off The Body Shop website. They also had free delivery so I couldn't pass it up! I already own a couple The Body Shop brushes and really like them.

Tesco:
Zebra print folder £1, blue folder 60p
I want some pretty ones, but these will do for now!

400 sheet Pukka pads £1.90 each
I was going to buy some Oxford pads, but you get a lot more paper with these and the quality is very similar.

50 subject dividers £2, 50 punch pockets £1

Clear pencil cases 39p each, highlighters 85p, sticky index markers £1
I do find it a little ridiculous that the index markers are more than the highlighters, seeing as they're just paper!

I still need to get pens and a memory stick. I use Papermate biros, which come in packs of 10. I usually get them from Asda (£1 a pack) but they've stopped selling them! I know that Rymans sell them though.
Asda are selling 4GB memory sticks for £5, which is quite good, but I have my eye on a turtle shaped one from Comet haha. It's £12-15 though so I'll probably just get a cheap one.

Someday Summary - Friday

  • Jacks (Or Jax as my dad prefers to spell it) went 'missing' for 2 1/2 weeks. We weren't particularly worried because it's 'mating season' (He had the chop about a month ago though, poor sod). On Tuesday my dad found him chillin' in someone's garden a few streets away haha. We decided to get him a collar so people know where to return him if he goes walk abouts again. It's black and sparkly and he looks adorable!

He kept moving, hence the side shot but this photo shows you the collar well.

  • Also on Tuesday, I drank 1L 250ml of water! I know the recommended amount is 2L but I'm still proud of myself. The only water I normally drink is in a few cups of teas a day. I'm going to try and drink more because I'm sure my body is suffering from the little amount it gets. My muscles keep pulling themselves and they're so painful that I cannot move for about 5 minutes. I'm guessing this is because of water deficiency. Drinking water will also make my skin look better!
  • I'm stressing out about exams. One month left people! I'm worried about English and Media (Not so much Psychology). I get my results on the 18th August and before I collect them, I can log into Ucas to see if I've been accepted into the Uni's I've applied for. Imagine if they say I haven't got a place... I'm going to have to go into school to collect my results, knowing I've done bad. The 18th is also my sister's birthday so if my results are poor, I'm going to be crying on her happy occasion.
  • Most people in my year either have a job, can drive, go 'clubbing' or are having sex. I do none of these things and it makes me feel like a child. I don't have the: confidence to get a job, money to learn to drive, friends to go 'clubbing' and I don't have a boyfriend. In fact, I've never had a boyfriend and I'm 18. How pathetic is that?

My favourite cleanser is nearly gone! Thankfully I have a back up of The Body Shop's Vitamin E Facial Cleansing Bar. Review can be found here. I wrote the review 11 months ago and it's only just running out!

Body Butter Collection + Reviews

I prefer body butters to lotions. Although my skin isn't dry, I like to give it as much moisture as possible. I actually only use these in the Summer when my legs are on show; the rest of the year I just smell them!

Left to right: The Body Shop Raspberry, The Body Shop Almond, Boots Extracts Vanilla, Body Treatment Cocoa, Palmers Cocoa Butter, Boots Extracts Cocoa Butter x2, Boots Extracts Mango, Boots Extracts Coconut, Boots Extracts Brazil Nut, Boots Extracts Honey.

All moisturise well, I've never come across a body butter that doesn't.

The Body Shop £12.50 for 200ml: The raspberry one smells absolutely divine! Like jam. I don't like the Almond one, it is nothing compared to the Boots Extracts Almond one that my sister has. I wouldn't pay full price for these because I don't like to spend over £10 on a body butter but when on sale they are a great buy.

Body Treatment Cocoa £1something for 220ml: You can buy this at Wilkinsons and it is very affordable! However, since purchasing my other body butters, I've noticed that this one doesn't smell as nice.

Palmers Cocoa Butter £3.22* for 100g: This smells so good (Like chocolate) and is affordable too. It moisturises well, the only problem being how greasy it is. This is a product to use in the evening when you're not doing anything as it takes a while to absorb into the skin.

Boots Extracts £7.92* for 200ml, £2.55* for 50ml: I absolutely adore this range and will choose them over The Body Shop any day. Not the cheapest but more affordable than The Body Shop. These are also fairtrade.

Favourites:
  • The Body Shop Raspberry - Jam, yum yum.
  • Boots Extracts Vanilla - Anyone who knows me or reads my blog regularly will know that Vanilla is my favourite scent so this has to be in my favourites!
  • Boots Extracts Mango - Smells amazing! and isn't too sweet.
  • Boots Extracts Brazil Nut - Oh my. I thought that the Cocoa Butter one would smell sweeter but no, this one definitely smells sweeter! It smells like toffee/fudge/yummy goodness. I think this one may just be in the lead with Vanilla! Now that's a compliment!

The Body Shop Double Ended Blackhead Remover

Double Ended Blackhead Remover - Accessories
Price: £3

Review may have been seen on The Body Shop's website. This is because I wrote the review on the website!
I have seen a few reviews where people have said this is not suitable for black heads around your nose as even the small end is too big. I couldn't disagree more. You don't just use this product to get one blackhead at a time, you can 'scrape' it across the area with a lot of small blackheads and it extracts them all at the same time. This product does the same as using your fingers but with this you can get more in a short space of time. I'm not going to lie, you have to press and scrape hard which hurts, but no pain no gain right! & If you're gross like me, you will feel satisfied when seeing all the rubbish you've collected haha. But as I say, the small end does work on tiny blackheads around the nose, it just gets more than one at a time.

Would I recommend? Yes :)

Updated Nail Polish Collection

Yesterday I sorted out my nail polish collection and ended up giving my sister 23 polishes, with me keeping 18.
The ones I gave away were mostly shimmers which is what I used to always love and buy but I'm not too keen on them now.
My collection mostly consists of pinks, which is a great excuse to buy a few more other colours ;)
I haven't got a beige, peach, lilac, purple, mint green (any shade of green actually), red, navy blue.. it's crazy isn't it!

The pretty nail file is from The Body Shop £1.50 :) Oh and the storage basket is from Wilkinsons which was under 50p.

Toodles,
xo

Today's purchases and a delicious lunch!

InStyle magazine £3.60, Tesco's Highlighters free

With this months InStyle magazine you get a free The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain. I am so pleased about this because I'm running out of my current one and was going to buy a new one. Now I don't have to! I picked up Rose Pink and next time I'll pick up Bronze Glimmer.

The highlighters were free because they didn't have a bar code on and no one came when the guy called for someone. Yay! Saved me 50p ;)

Now onto my absolutely heavenly lunch!
French stick with chicken tikka pieces, lettuce and tomato, prawns and a slice of caramel shortcake.

Prawns and caramel slice are two of my favourite foods! :D

Hope you're have a good day :)

July Favourites

1. Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash - Review can be found here. Pink, smells of pink grapefruit and removes my eye make-up well.

2. Pantene Shampoo. I was using Tesco's shampoo for a while and when I changed to this I could certainly feel a difference. My hair feels much healthier and conditioner does not have to be used with this because it makes your hair soft on its own :)

3. Simple Exfoliating Body Wash. Has just enough scrubby bits :)

4. The Body Shop Raspberry Body Butter. This moisturises well but the reason why it has made my July favourites is the smell - Raspberry jam! It can be smelt from every corner of the house when I use it haha.

5. Barry M Intense Eyeliner Pen in Royal Blue - Review can be found here. Great pigmentation, waterproof, smudgeproof and lasts all day!

6. Barry M Lip Paint in Pinkie Gold Sparkle 132 - Review can be found here. Simply a gorgeous colour. This product, along with the one above are both fairly new and I have only used in the last week but I love them so much they had to be included.

7. Bloom Mineral Plus Lipstick in Ragtime - Review can be found here. Moisturising, light on the lips, great pigmentation, smells like vanilla, lasts for a reasonable time and the packaging is super cute.

8. Bloom Shadow Liner in Soft Taupe - Review can be found here. I use this over my black eyeliner to blend it out. It also gives a shine and another dimension to the black, making my eyes look more awake.

9. The Body Shop hair brushes. These are great quality and love that they're made out of wood.

10. Aveeno Hand Cream. A non greasy hand cream is essential as we all need to get on with our daily tasks and this certainly absorbs quickly leaving your hands feel refreshed and soft :)

I have been accepted on to the AVEENO® Discoverer Programme, helping to spread the word about AVEENO® products. I get sent free AVEENO® samples and have the possibility of being rewarded with additional benefits.

Bargainacious!

The Body Shop. I walked in there today and was a good girl. Why you ask? Well some of their body butters were on sale from £12.50 down to £5 and I didn't buy one!
They didn't have any hair brushes which is what I went in for in the first place so off I went.
I'm so glad I didn't buy the body butters because I've just been on The Body Shop's website and they have been reduced even further to just £3!

The Body Shop can be expensive but you can get some real bargains when they have a sale. I also love that you get free delivery when you spend £15.

Here's what I have just purchased:

Raspberry Body Butter - SALE £5 and under
Raspberry Body Butter 200ml £3 in the sale

Almond Body Butter - SALE £5 and under
Almond Body Butter 200ml £3 in the sale - My sister has an Almond body butter and it smells like Cherry Bakewells!

Paddle Brush - SALE £5 and under
Paddle Brush £5 in the sale

Small Cushion Brush - SALE £5 and under
Small Cushion Brush £3 in the sale

Nail File Bright Floral - £5 and under Gifts
Nail File £1.50

The four Body Butters I like are Coconut, Cocoa Butter, Raspberry and Almond so I'm glad two of them are in the sale. I really really really wish they did a Vanilla one again as that's my favourite scent.

So go on! Go have a look at what they're offering :)
