Life Update - Finishing Uni, Getting a Job, and Five Years of Blogging

A lot has happened since I last updated you 8 months ago. If you follow me on Twitter, you'll most likely know all of this, but if you don't, here's the gist of it!

I finished my dissertation, and after convincing myself I'd done terribly, I received a 2:1 for it. How, I do not know. My other assignment grades were good, too, and I'll be graduating in October with a 2:1 in English Language & Linguistics with Media. I didn't think I'd make it through the first year when I started uni, let alone finish with a 2:1. I actually remember telling myself to just make it through the first semester so I could keep the free laptop!

I felt even more down than usual after finishing uni because I had no plans. I was lost. I'd like to be a copywriter/proofreader, but as you do with everything, you need a lot of experience. The thing is, you need experience to get experience. My sister then informed me of a job going at Boots, and I thought it'd be great for the time being. I could earn some money while looking for said experience. I didn't end up getting the job I applied for, but was offered a better one instead. Although not planned, I'm fortunate I managed to get something after just one application and interview. Everyone's been really nice for the most part, and I've unintentionally lost weight because my body's not used to being so active! Uni's mentally challenging, but physically, there's nothing to it. I've had some bad days, but there's nothing to do except move on from them (after expressing my emotions on Twitter).

It was also my blog's 5th birthday on the 3rd August. Can you believe I've been writing on here for half a decade?! I was going to bake something, but completely forgot until the day. I'll have to whip something up soon because I haven't baked in ages. Although my blogging has slowed down this year, I can't see me stopping just yet. Hopefully, you'll stay with me!

Update! Uni, Christmas, Sales, and More

You can find me on Instagram here!

Hello, everyone! I haven't written an update post for a few months, and haven't blogged for a few weeks, so thought it was about time I did so. I was going to update you guys at the beginning of this month, but then Jacksie died, and I didn't feel like it. He's the black and white cat in the photos, and they're some of the last I took of him. Then, deadlines and not buying anything really affected my blogging mojo.

So, what have I been up to? Not a lot, really! October was filled with uni work, November was filled with worrying about whether Jacks would survive and more uni work, and December has involved deadlines and obviously Christmas.

I got the results back for my first year three assignment a week or so ago and was so surprised and relieved at the grade. Another uni update is that I handed in part one of my dissertation a couple weeks ago. 3,000 words down, 7,000 to go! I now have to start collecting data, which is going to be incredibly tedious.

Like I said, I haven't been buying anything recently, and that's because nothing has taken my fancy, especially beauty/makeup wise. I haven't even been painting my nails. I think the last time I did was 6 weeks ago! I just hate the process, even though I love the results.

Christmas was okay. Our family (mum, dad, sister and I) don't do a lot of Christmas traditions, and don't really like spending time with our wider family. Or should I say, my dad, sister, and I don't like spending time with our wider family. We're antisocial beings, and prefer to just stay at home. I feel awkward and uncomfortable around my other relatives, and am relieved when we leave! For New Year's Eve, we're going to order Chinese and start watching a new TV series. We're thinking Dexter, even though my dad's already watched a few episodes. Oh! And I received my first ever stocking from my sister this Christmas. It was great opening all these little treats and surprises (I normally know what I'm getting). It made Christmas, even though we didn't even have a tree or decorations (there was nowhere to put it, and people rarely come round anyway).

I've done a spot of Christmas sale shopping, both online and in store, but everything I've bought has been for other people. I've already bought my mum and sister a pair of slippers each for Mother's Day and my sister's birthday in August. They were half price from Accessorize, and then I found a student discount code which worked on top. My sister and I then bought a few Pacifica Hawaiian Ruby Guava sets from Tesco for just £5 each, down from £15 (they're £18 on Feel Unique). I'm so pleased because I was eyeing them up a couple weeks prior, and the scent I wanted was this one! The roller ball perfume alone retails for about £10-12 over here (it's $12 in America), and then you get a small tube of body butter and a tinted lip balm. I don't know why the other scents aren't reduced, though, but I'll be keeping an eye on them. My sister and I went in town yesterday, Boxing Day, and to our surprise, it wasn't that busy! I didn't pick up much, though. The Aroma hand warmers I wanted from Boots were sold out. I bought an owl mug from BHS for £3, which wasn't in the sale, and the Quality Street Purely Purple Ones gift from Superdrug for £2.99, which was in the sale. I bought it for my dad's birthday in February because he loves them.

I hope you've been well and have had a good Christmas. Let me know what you received and if you've bought anything in the sales!

September Update

A selection of photos I've taken recently!

We're into autumn now, which is probably my favourite season when thinking of the stereotypical weather it includes. However, in reality, especially here in Britain, the rain doesn't care what season it is! So I've been having to wear my coat even though the temperatures haven't dropped much yet, resulting in me being hot and sweaty (I HATE being hot. It makes me feel so sick!). My ideal day would be clear skies and cold temperatures. No heat, no rain.

The month of September saw me unintentionally changing my style a little and becoming more autumn/winter appropriate. I used the darker shades of the Superdrug Colour Effects, making my hair darker and redder. A few people noticed this, thinking I'd dyed it properly. One person, who has only just met me, didn't believe I was naturally a ginger. They thought I had brunette hair and had just dyed it an auburn shade. The rich, deep tones I now have seem to have this effect! I also cut in a shorter side fringe to accompany my new, shorter hair. I always seem to go shorter for the colder months. I've also been wearing berry lip shades again, and even building them up to create an intense colour (something I never do - maybe this is a sign of more confidence?). As well as this, I've been buying and wearing jumpers! I love jumpers. The ones I've been buying are all from the men's section of Primark. I love how tightly knitted and baggy they are. Women's ones seem to be more interested in making you look fashionable, so aren't as simple and warm as men's ones.

I upgraded to an iPhone at the beginning of the month, which I've been loving. As you can see from the photos, I'm enjoying buying cases for it! Even though I can't get them off for the life of me. My sister has to do it. I also created an Instagram profile, which you can find here. The camera on the iPhone is so much better than the one on my old phone, so I've been making the most of it!

My uni screwed up my third year modules again. After they sorted the '2 for semester A and 4 for semester B' problem, everything was fine. I then emailed them asking if they could update my timetable, only for them to tell me I couldn't do one of my modules because it clashed with another. So I had to pick something I wasn't really keen on doing. They wouldn't have even told me if I didn't email them in the first place! However, after all this, I'm actually glad I'm doing the module I'm doing. The other one seems really time consuming (more so than other modules), and considering it's only my minor and I have a dissertation to do, I don't want that.

Speaking of dissertations, I'm now back at uni and starting my own! I'm already feeling daunted and stressed. To reassure myself, I've just got to remember that the amount of words equates to that of two modules, and these are split across semesters A and B. Also, as long as I create a timetable and stick to it, I shouldn't fall too far behind. This is easier said than done, though, and procrastination usually sets in. If only you could buy motivation.

September also saw some anniversaries! On the 16th, we'd had Mysti and Mia (the tabby in the photos) for 6 years, and on the 20th, we'd had Buddy (the dog in the photos) for a year! I can't believe it. This means Mysti and Mia will be 7 next year :( I don't want them to get old!

I also started watching Breaking Bad! Everyone was raving about it, so thought I'd see what the fuss was about. Even though I tried spreading the episodes out, I ended up watching them all in a week and a half. Feeling a bit lost now! I'd recommend the show, especially if you like crime dramas.

Until November, my friends (I can imagine that update being filled with my worries and stress).

August Update!

Well, the Summer is over and I'll be heading into my final year of university this month - Crazy! This Summer hasn't been amazing, but it's been a lot better than last year, where I was ill for most of it.

In my last update, I said I'd emailed my lecturer about a dissertation idea and was waiting for his approval. He approved it, thankfully, and I've been doing a little research in preparation. When I say little, I mean little. I only have a list of narrowed ideas and a few references at the moment, but I'm planning on finding more before I go back.

It was my blog's 4th birthday on the 3rd August! I made cupcakes to celebrate, which you can see in the birthday post. 4 years is a long time. I wonder how much longer I'll blog for? Could be a year, could be another 4. Who knows?

It was also my sister's 18th birthday on the 18th August. I made her a cake (above), 30 cupcakes, a giant cookie, and chocolate sheep. It was a lot of work, and the cake didn't look perfect, but it tasted delicious. I was so tense when it was being cut and handed to people because I just wanted them to like it! It seemed to have gone down well, but they could've been lying, you never know! It tasted great to me, though, and I'm my biggest critic.

I got my hair cut as well. 6 inches taken off and now I have shoulder length hair! It's the shortest I've had it in years, but I'm liking it. I'm tempted to go shorter, but I want my long hair back for graduation (if I survive the next year, that is).

I had an issue with my modules for year 3, where they'd given me 2 for semester A and 4 for semester B (instead of 3 and 3). It was just my luck, but it's been sorted now! I'm doing 2 compulsory dissertation ones, 2 compulsory English ones (my major), and 2 optional media ones (my minor). These optional ones are in photography and marketing. I've already done a photography module, which I enjoyed, but I've never done a marketing one. Hopefully I like it, but I'll just suck it up if I don't.

The 31st August was the day in which I'd had Jessie for 4 years. I can't believe how fast it's gone! And I've just remembered that I got her the same year I started blogging (and the same year I finished GCSEs and went into A Levels). I posted a photo on Twitter of Jessie sleeping with Jacks (one of our cats. He's the same age as Jessie, so he's only a kitten in the photo himself) just a few hours after we'd brought her home. So cute.

Now, I'm going to bathe the dogs and make a crumble with freshly picked apples (not at the same time. I'm not THAT talented!). I'm also going to be upgrading my phone today, which I'm excited about! The rest of September will consist of meeting up with some friends and starting year 3 of uni. You'll probably hear all about my days on Twitter anyway (where I also post lots of photos of my animals). How was your August?

July Update!

Jessie on our walk the other day looking rather amusing!

Hello, all! After not updating you in over a year, I've done so twice in two months! I used to do weekly ones, but not a great deal usually happens from week to week, so I think I'll just keep them monthly.

In my last update, I said I'd applied for a job. I didn't get it, which does make me question myself as to why, but I'm still proud for even having the courage to apply. I haven't applied to any others since then because it's not a top priority at the moment, what with year 3 and my dissertation around the corner. I know lots of people have jobs while at uni, but because I've never experienced that, it'd be a shock to the system handling something else, especially in year 3. I wish I'd started applying last Summer!

I also said in my last update that I'd love to go to Thorpe Park this Summer. Well, that week, I did! My parents both had time off of work, so we all went together. Unfortunately, I was travel sick, and was still sick entering the park. Travel sickness and tummy turning rides do not mix, but I went on them anyway because I was not missing out! Surprisingly, Rush turned my tummy the most, not any of the roller coasters. I'd love to go again, but take precautions this time!

Out of the blue, I remembered that I hadn't yet applied for student finance for the next academic year - Two days before the deadline. Quite lucky, really. I can't believe I'd forgotten about it, though. I'm normally one of the first to get it in. I think it's because this last year has gone by so quickly that I thought I'd only just filled the forms out, when it was actually 16 months ago - Oops!

In the month of July I also became an organ donor. I hadn't signed up before because the thought of my death, someone cutting me open, and taking my organs, terrified me. It still does, but I thought I may as well. My organs will only go to waste if I don't, and if I can save a life, it's worth it. I just hope they won't have to be used for a very long time!

As some of you may know, July was also an upsetting time for my family because our beautiful Puddin' died. It was out of the blue, a week before her 5th birthday. We still miss her every day, and expect to see her running in before remembering what happened, but we're just thankful that her death was quick. I'm holding on to the adorable and funny memories I have of her now.

That week was a bit of a roller coaster because the day after Puddin' died I received my 2nd year uni results. I was so happy with them, and it felt great to be proud for once. On closer inspection, I found that one of the Firsts I'd received was for an assignment I struggled with towards the end. Baffling, but I'm not complaining!

Now I've just got to concentrate on year 3. I'm going to gather research for my dissertation idea next week, if my lecturer says my idea is okay. I'm nervous to open my email and find his response!

The next update you'll see will be in September! I can't believe that's only next month. Enjoy your August!

Update!

All of my animals, past and present

I haven't written one of these in ages! Partly because my life hasn't been that exciting, and partly because I didn't think there was any point. However, I was reading through my old posts earlier and loved reading my diary type entries. It was interesting to see how I felt years ago.

So, I've finished year 2 of university! I can't believe it. In one of the posts I read earlier, I wrote: I don't think I'll get into uni, and even if I do, I don't think I'll manage it. Well, past me, you did get in and you are managing it! I had an exam on the 6th June, and that was my last assessment. Results are on the 19th July. I'll find out half of my degree grade on the 19th July. Scary stuff.

Year 3 and the dreaded 'd' word will be upon me in a few months time. I've thought of a topic for my dissertation, so I'm going to look into it and then narrow it down with the help of my lecturers when I go back. I'm just hoping they don't dismiss it! It has to be English based because I'm majoring in English Language and Linguistics, but I've also found a way to incorporate my minor (Media) and my interests. Fingers crossed it works out!

I want to start exercising a little to tone up and improve my health. I did the Blogilates Call Me Maybe Mighty Squat Challenge yesterday, and oh my. My legs sure are hurting today! I'm feeling muscles I didn't even know I had. I'm going to do an ab specific video tomorrow, and then whatever else takes my fancy.

I applied for a job earlier! I've enquired about jobs before, but never applied for one. One with a form and everything. Some of you may not know this, and some of you will, but I have huge confidence issues, so this is a big deal for me. I'm nervous (understatement), but I was terrified to go to uni and that all turned out fine (so terrified that it took all of my willpower to force me out the door, and I was sick every morning for a couple weeks).

Since finishing uni, I've been baking and blogging quite a bit. I don't have any fun plans for the Summer, just looking for a job and thinking of dissertation stuff. If I do end up getting a job, I don't know how I'll be able to cope in year 3, but I'll get to that hurdle later. I do want to try and do some fun things, though, like go to Thorpe Park with my friends. I've been to Alton Towers (didn't think much of it), but never Thorpe Park. I'd also love to take a day trip or weekend to another city.

And that's everything! I may try and make these updates a regular thing again. We'll see!

Update!

I haven't written an update post in months, so you would think I'd have loads to tell you. I don't. My life is a simple one. But here I am, updating you on the few things that have happened recently!

Lets back track to the end of July. I received my first year uni results and I was very happy with them. I achieved two 1sts and four 2:1s. I wish the first year of uni counted towards your overall grade now!

Since July, I've been ill. Two. Whole. Months. First of all, I had a throat infection, along with every other symptom you can think of. Once that eventually went, I acquired another bug or some kind of allergy, because I had this really bad mucus thing. I would go through a whole roll of tissue in 1-2 days. Gross, I know. Sorry about that. Being ill on top of Shadow dying in July means my Summer hasn't been the best. Anyway, it's starting to clear up now, so I think I'm going to be better in time for uni!

Speaking of uni, again, I found out my timetable for next year today. I'm in 10am-2pm on Mondays and 9am-1pm on Thursdays and Fridays - Not bad! I didn't want any gaps in between my lectures (I didn't want to wait around) and I didn't want to finish late, so I'm happy with my times. I prefer having early lectures over late ones.

I dyed my eyebrows the other day. My mum was dying her hair a chocolate brown, so I borrowed a little and applied the dye with a small make-up brush. I dyed them because the base of the hairs were white, making my brows look sparser than they were. Now, they don't need to be filled in as much.

I had my hair cut on Saturday! 2-3 inches were taken off, so it feels quite short now. My hair's still in my lower back region though. I also had my layers shortened, so now my hair is flicking in every direction possible. They give my hair some shape though!

I've been online shopping a lot these past few days, especially on eBay. In the post, I have an NYX cream blush, a penguin memory stick, a duvet set, some bright leggings to wear around the house and to bed in the Winter, a couple of men's t-shirts to wear with the leggings and three Essie nail polishes from Fragrance Direct. They were only £1.99! I'll post about them when they arrive :)

I'm on a mission to find a simple, and slightly stylish, coat with a hood. I've looked at hundreds and still haven't found one I love! More coats on the British high street need hoods. The few I have found and like are £50+, but I don't want to spend over £50. Maybe if I stop looking, I'll actually find one. Fingers crossed!

On the 31st August, I will have had this little monkey for three years. I love Jessie so much!

University - One (academic) year in

I have finished my first year of university! I finished my final assignment last night and I am handing it in tomorrow (As well as giving my sister and our friend a tour - They're entering their second year of sixth form, so need to start making university decisions). I have completed 12 assignments: 7 essays, 3 exams, 1 practical and 1 presentation. My grades have been good and so much better than I thought I could do. I haven't found the lectures any harder than my A Level classes, but there's a lot more independent learning, and it has taken a great deal of motivation to write my essays! I didn't believe I could handle university, but I am beginning to. I know my second and third years are going to be incredibly harder, but I'm trying not to think about them just yet and enjoy my Summer. Overall, I like university. I have greatly improved my writing skills and it is giving me confidence - Academic confidence and confidence around other people.
I don't know what else to say! Sorry for such a short post! If you have any questions about university or my experience, you can leave me a comment or email :)

My Week in Photos and Someday Summary

Hello! I thought I'd do something new this week and show you what I've been up to through the eyes of a camera. I'll also be having a natter. Before we start, I just thought I'd say that the photos do not show everything I've been doing, and I kept forgetting I was meant to be taking photos! Also, I won't be doing one of these posts every week because my routine pretty much stays the same! My life basically consists of my animals, food, parcels and revision, and this is displayed in the following photos.

Monday

1. I presented my media presentation. I became nervous a few minutes before it was my turn, but I didn't let my nerves get to my voice, and it went okay :)
2. I bought this yoghurt drink from Lidl and it was delicious! I love peach yoghurt.
3. The bag I ordered from New Look arrived. It's my first 'grown up' bag. The bags I've previously used for school and university have been of the shopper variety.
4. I painted my nails with China Glaze For Audrey and the Models Own Nail Art Pen in White.

Tuesday

1., 2., and 3. After uni, I took Jessie for a long walk :)
4. and 5. The online food shopping arrived! I added mango & blackcurrant sorbet and lemon cheesecake ice-cream to the basket, and oh my! They are delicious! Tesco, 2 for £3.50, go!

Wednesday

1. Revising for my English exam.
2. I had lunch at lunch time, for once!
3. My The Body Shop order arrived. There was a 40% off and free delivery code floating around the internet, so I took advantage and stocked up on the hand gels. I also ordered some other bits, but they're birthday presents.
4. The aniseed balls and chocolate brazil nuts I ordered for Father's Day arrived (I buy presents early!). The person I order my 'not easy to get hold of' sweets from is great. This is their website and this is their eBay store.
5. 'The Help' arrived from Amazon. It doesn't sound like my kind of book, but it has a lot of positive reviews, so I thought I'd give it a read.
6. Battered sausages! They look disgusting, but they taste so good.

Thursday

1. After uni, I went to Lidl and bought yoghurt and fruit to make healthy snacks.
2. A healthy snack made from the yoghurt and fruit!
3. and 4. I took Jessie for another walk.
5. After I took Jessie for a walk, I took Shadow for a short walk down the road (She's old and cannot handle long walks any more). On our journey, I turned around to see three of my cats following us! I wish I had taken a photo of the two dogs and three cats walking in a row.

Friday

1. Last minute revision before my English exam. I think it went okay, but I won't know for sure just yet.
2. My Figs and Rouge pomegranate balm from Feel Unique arrived.
3. I wrote a post about The Body Shop Hand Cleanse Gels.
4. Chicken dippers and onion rings - Yum!

Saturday

1. I had grapes, scones and tea for breakfast.
2. My giveaway prize from Sian arrived! Thank you so much, Sian :)
3. Planning my final assignment.
4. and 5. I was bored, so decided to curl my hair. The photos show only half of my hair curled. The curls made my hair look so much shorter!
5. Pizza and cauliflower cheese :)

Sunday

1. I reviewed the Remington Pearl Curling Wand (It's the post before this!)
2. Lunch. In my sandwich was ham, cheese, tomato and cucumber. The cheese is from Farm Foods and is amazing! It's really creamy and extra mature. You know you have a good block of cheese when you squidge it and it's soft.
3. What my hair looked like 24 hours after curling it (It still looks like that now, actually).
4. I'm now planning and starting my final assignment. I shall be occupied with this until the 6th June.

What else?
  • I've started buying things for my sister's birthday present box, even though her birthday isn't until August!
  • I'm going in town Wednesday and I'm so excited! It feels like I haven't been shopping in ages. I'm mostly excited about buying a new academic diary haha
  • Oh, I finished reading Insurgent a few weeks back (The book after Divergent). I absolutely loved it. The next book in the trilogy doesn't come out until next year :(
  • I'm thinking about learning how to embroid, seeing as I'll have a few months spare soon!

Did you watch the Eurovision Song Contest final last night? How unpopular are we?!

Outfit of the Day and Update

White t-shirt - H&M
Blue cardigan - H&M
Indigo super skinny jeans - Primark
Red dolly shoes - New Look

I keep telling you that my outfits are incredibly boring, but you keep requesting Outfit of the Day posts! So, here you are.
I wore this to my English exam today. It has actually been quite cold, even though the sun is shining, so I wish I wore some socks and boots!
Boring outfit, bad quality photo, and beauty products taking over my room in the background - Contender for the best post, ever? I think so ;)

I was going to write a Someday Summary post, but I don't have much to tell, so I thought I'd have a good old natter in this one.
Let's see... The last few assignment grades I've had back have been good :)
I'm half way through reading Catching Fire, from The Hunger Games trilogy. It's taken me a while to read it because I've been busy with assignments.
I'm going to see The Hunger Games on Tuesday :D Then I'm going bowling and having a few drinks with some friends. I know, I'm totally social now! Kind of...
I've just placed an order with ELF (EyesLipsFace). I wanted to repurchase some favourites before they went out of stock again (Studio brushes, Studio Eyebrow Kit and Mechanical Eyelash Curler). I also bought the Mineral Booster and two Mineral Lip Tints, in Blush and Berry. If you spend over £10, you will receive a Mystery Bag worth at least £10. The code is JACKPOT325. It expires at 9:30am on Monday 2nd April 2012.
I'm also going to be making a few other purchases this weekend, so expect a 'haul'! I've got to pick up a Lush Shampoo Bar I won earlier, and I also want to purchase You've Been Mangoed and Vanilla Puff from them. I'm craving lip stains, so I'll probably pop into Boots and have a good ol' swatching session.

Exams are nearly over...

This post will be a ramble about my future, feelings and whatever else comes to mind. You've had your warning!

I've just had my Psychology exam and completely messed it up. People say "you've probably done better than you think" but I know I've failed. There's no way I could have passed. I've took four exams so far and have my last one on Friday. I don't feel confident about any of them and I'm definitely not going to do well in the exam Friday. I've ruined my chances of getting into Uni this year so I'm planning on getting a job, retaking my exams in January and applying for University next year. For all I care, the job can be scooping up doggy doos. As long as it keeps me occupied and I get paid for doing it. I've decided not to retake year 13 because I cannot be bothered to redo the whole year. I'm fine in lessons anyway, I just need to keep revising my notes and practise answering questions.

Anyyyway, onto a happier note; my exams are nearly finished and I'm going to have a good few months before I plan my next step. I'm going to make a list of things to do during the Summer. In previous years, I've wasted my Summers doing nothing so want to make the most of this year. The list will only comprise of small things, but as long as I do something each day, I won't get bored. For example, I'll aim to bake cookies and draw on one day. I'm also going to try and walk the dogs, read and write a few blog posts (of course) everyday. I also want to volunteer at my local RSPCA charity shop. It's one of my favourite charities and it will boost my confidence.

Oh, and I have STILL not received my Sleek prizes. It's been nearly three weeks. Tut tut.

Update!

Good evening beautiful people!

My reason for why I haven't been blogging much recently is above. Look up... yeah there.

Exams... I've never been so stressed! In the past, I knew I could retake so wasn't nervous about failing, but this time I do not have that opportunity. Well... I do, but it then means I won't be going to University this/next year. I've taken two exams and have three to go. I cannot say how I've done because you really do not know until results day.
Let me tell you, Media is the hardest subject to find motivation for. I've been meaning to do hardcore revision for it for the last two days but I've only managed a few hours, at most.

I realised this week that I only need CCD to get into Marjons, which has eased my stress levels... slightly. I say only but I think I'll be lucky to get that! At the beginning of sixth form, I thought 'Three C's will be easy to get'. Ooh how I was wrong. You really do need to put the effort in. I didn't and now I'm paying for it. Quite literally actually, because I had to pay to resit my exams. Seriously though, I don't care what grades I get, as long as I get into Uni.

My blog's 2nd birthday is in August! Times flies eh? If I get into Uni, I'll be holding a few giveaways to celebrate both. Cross your fingers for me! Or even better, if you know anyone who marks exam papers, give them my name along with a present of some sort ;)

I have so many posts coming up! You can see what ones by clicking 'Upcoming posts' at the top of the page. I have a number of Sleek products to post about. I won Sleek's Facebook competition so am receiving a load of products from that. I also bought a few blushes in a blog sale and I ordered a few things from their website. I'm going to have so much fun swatching!

My China Glaze and OPI collection. Oooh purdy.
Left to right: China Glaze For Audrey, OPI No Room For The Blues, Lucky Lucky Lavender, Shorts Story, Elephantastic Pink.

I won Hannah's giveaway and was allowed to choose two OPI polishes, so I chose No Room For The Blues and Lucky Lucky Lavender. Thank you again Hannah!
The basket I store my polishes in is overflowing, so I'm looking for some new storage. I don't want them in boxes because I like seeing them on display. I also don't want to spend over £15.
That reminds me, how gorgeous are the new Bourjois polishes? The bright/neon shades are right up my street. I was going to buy a few China Glaze polishes but think I'm going to buy the Bourjois ones instead. They're currently 3 for 2, so they'll work out cheaper.

I bought this diary at the beginning of the year. At £8.50, I think it's quite expensive. Do I use it? Nope. I'm used to my planner layout of a week per two pages and this diary uses a day per page layout. It's a shame because the diary is absolutely gorgeous.

Someday Summary

I haven't written one of these posts in a few weeks so I thought I'd update you. My life has been pretty boring actually so I don't know what I'm going to write.

  • Remember I had an interview at Falmouth University? I wrote a whole post about it. Well the following day they offered me a conditional. In the prospectus, they said they wanted 220 UCAS points (Which would work out as CCD) but on the letter they sent me, they want me to get a B in English and Media. I have conditionals for all my choices but they all want me to get a B in English which is going to be hard. I don't think I'm going to get into University and don't know what I'm going to do with my life.
  • I'm behind on my Media coursework and English coursework. I need to take my own photos for my Media magazine to get a good grade. I don't have many friends and am not close to any guys who are suitable to take photos of (Need a guy on the cover of my magazine). Also, my sister has only just agreed to have her photo taken for a few of the pages. English... I've transcribed 3 out of 4 films but have had trouble downloading the 4th (Beauty and The Beast) because our internet connection went. This has delayed me transcribing it, delaying me creating the data graphs, delaying me writing the essay that has to be in Friday. I'm going to have to ask for more time.
  • My friend got us Lee Evans tickets for August. I've never been to see someone famous (Have never even been to a concert :() so I'm excited!
  • As well as saving up to pay for the ticket, I have to save up for a sixth form leavers hoodie, May Ball dress, shoes etc...
  • I need to make my blog more personal and I know people like OOTDs and FOTDS. I hate having my photo taken and have boring clothes but I am going to try and do an OOTD/FOTD once a week (The next week is going to be super busy so I'll have to see if I can do one).

A few photos I've found from weheartit:

Ins and Outs / Update

I was thinking about writing this post earlier but then thought 'Best leave it to the end of the month, like the others'... and I've just realised it is the end of the month! I'll be sitting my January exams in a blink of an eye.

Ins:
  • Yesterday I paid for my exam resits and Friday I will be able to pay for my revision guides. Some of you know that I've been having money problems recently and this is a huge weight off of my shoulders!
  • Following on with the school topic, I got my Psychology exam paper back. I asked to get it back because I didn't do so well and wanted to see where I went wrong. I was confused as to why I done so bad because the answers were all standard with a handful of them getting full marks. Found out that the grade boundaries were really high for this paper (50% getting you only an E). The next thing that really confused me was the last question. I got 0/12 and yet I fully and clearly explained my answers? I went to speak to my teacher and she said that she found out the night before and was absolutely fuming because I should have least got 6 marks. She's wrote a letter of complaint to Edexcel or whoever, demanding them to mark the last question.
  • I received a new bank card; Visa instead of my previous baby Solo. I'm so excited as I can now purchase products in Accessorize with my card! I don't know why Accessorize wouldn't accept my card when every other store did.
  • I have some shoes in the post! Again, this relates to the money problems. I only had one pair of dolly shoes to last me a month and a half (because that's when I would have spare money) and they are falling apart. New Look had free delivery but the only shoes that were under £8 (that's all I had) weren't very nice. I then looked on eBay and found a nice pair from New Look for £5.99 :) So I now have shoes to last me until November!
  • 18th birthday party Saturday... need I say more?!
  • I won two give away's today! One prize is a MAC lipstick (I chose Chatterbox because I like the finish and it's a bright pink; I can use less product to create a toned down pink) and the prizes from the other give away include a mascara, 17 Mirror Shine lipstick and Barry M Limited Edition Nail Paint (Along with other bits and pieces)
I feel as though people may be annoyed at this? Because a fair few people have said 'She always wins!'
I enter quite a few give away's (Like most) and don't win a huge percentage of them.
I've only won a couple from my fellow bloggers and a couple from companies. Yes I have had some luck in the last month and although I can't help winning, I feel bad that people may be getting annoyed with me.

Outs:
  • Dry lips. I never get dry lips but have this week and I don't like it at all!
  • No clothes because of no money. I've been wearing the same two pairs of jeans and three hoodies for the past three weeks (Of course regularly washed!)

Goals for 2010 progress

I think I was a wee bit ambitious this year.. either that or I've been completely lazy. I think it's a bit of both.

Here were my goals:
1. Go to a concert - I've never been to one! :(
2. Get a tan - Quite hard for a redhead but I shall succeed!
3. Learn to knit :)
4. Make my own jewellery
5. Buy some E.L.F products! - Have been meaning to for ageeess
6. Wear lip gloss - I never do as I always forget
7. Take more photos
8. Try a lot of Lush products!
9. Use a whole bar of soap - I don't use soap and when I do have soap, I only use it a few times so if I achieve this, I will be very proud of myself! Also gives me an excuse to buy Lush soaps!
10. Finish a tin of Vaseline - Never finished one!

& so far I've done number 5. I do have a few excuses though:
1. I haven't had the money .
2. Completely not my fault! Hello, I live in England!
3. Ahhh well this was my main one and I was so excited, I just never got round to it :/
8. None I'm interested in.
10. I HATE tins of lib balm and only use sticks so I don't know why this is on here.

Next year I'm only going to set myself achievable small things because I will have my A Level exams and will (Hopefully) be going off to University so I will be a busy bee.

So to sum up this post: I'm a big failure! :)

Have a good night x

Dress and update :)

I bought this top from Primark (£5) but realised when I got home it was two sizes too big. I was going to return it but I think it looks nice as a dress and is long enough to be one (Elasticated at the top so still fits). I've also seen a few girls wearing this as a dress and it looks nice so I think it can be worn either way, whatever takes your fancy.

I had to include this! Looks delicious right? It's rocky road cheesecake from Tesco *drools*

I also went to Matalan today, saw a nice bikini, tried it on and the top was too small (My bust is growing woop!) so went back for a size 10 and guess what, there was not one in sight. I was fuming as this seems to be happening a lot. But I'm going back during the week and I've also spotted another I like so I'm going to get both :) I'll show you them, if they have my size!

Matalan also have some amazing jewellery I've been eyeing up!

I've been looking for some heels for a wedding I'm going to in June for ages now but can't find any I like. I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to wear dolly shoes. They won't look as nice but..
1. These will still look cute
2. I've found many pairs which go with my dress
3. They will be more comfortable which is definitely a bonus as I'm at this wedding all day
4. I can wear them again
5. Less expensive
6. Being less money, I can spend more on clothes!

Ok so I've just been at a BBQ (up the road) and have come down to do some revision because one exam is this Thursday and the rest are two weeks away. Blogger has distracted me a bit but is sooo much better than revision. I really should do some though because I've only done a bit and feel like I'm going to fail :/

Ooooh and isn't the weather nice?! When I broke up for Easter it was hot and sunny and now I've broke up for study leave it's nice and sunny.
This is kinda bad because everyone goes beach and has BBQ's which distracts me from revision.

Anyway, toodles my little cupcakes!
