Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula

'COCOA BUTTER, enriched with VITAMIN E, in a soothing emollient base. Helps smooth and blend unattractive marks and scars. Tones skin. An excellent all-over-body moisturiser and after tanning butter. Use immediately after following exposure to the sun and wind. Ideal for deep moisturisation, including overnight treatments. Widely recommended for stretch marks during and after pregnancy. Use daily for soft, youthful appearance.'

WOW! So what does this claim?
  • Smooths and blends unattractive marks and scars
  • Tones skin
  • Great after tanning butter
  • Good with skin exposed to the sun and wind
  • Recommended for during and after pregnancy to prevent stretch marks
  • Helps give a youthful appearance
^ All moisturisers do these things; these are the benefits as to why we moisturise aren't they?
Palmer's have just brought these benefits forward to sound better than other moisturisers on the market, and good for them.

The smell
I loveeeee! It has a chocolate vanilla scent so it is very sweet. The scent is strong so some people may not like it.

The formula
It's like a tub of Vaseline - a solid balm. You cannot scoop it out like a normal body butter because of it's solid consistency so I 'moosh' it up before using.
This is VERY greasy, the greasiest product I have used in fact. It takes a while to absorb into the skin so it is best used at night or when you're not planning on going out.
It melts at body temperature so feels warm when applying which is really nice. This would be perfect for a massage! Any takers?

Although it's greasy, it leaves my skin extremely soft afterwards. I used it on my legs for a few days then decided to try it on my feet, hands, elbows and lips - Adventurous, I know ;) Gotta live on the edge! :P Wherever applied was left soft :)

I was a little disappointed when I purchased this product because I was looking for a body butter and this is a greasy balm. But, this smells great and leaves my skin extremely soft so the pros outweigh the cons. Another good point about this product is that it is cheap, costing around £3 so that's 3-1 for the pros.

Would I repurchase? This pot will last me ages! But once finished, probably not. It's a good product but I'm always changing what I use and by the time I've finished this, I will have my eye on something else.

Aveeno Discoverers Programme

Aveeno, the skincare brand, have a Discoverers Programme; people within this programme help spread the word of their products.

Here is what Aveeno say:
We are very passionate about our products, naturally active ingredients and scientific production processes. We are also proud that our products can help people overcome their dry skin and maintain it at a beautiful, healthier state everyday, in an enjoyable and gentle way.
Based on a lot of feedback we have received, we understand that our products can make a positive difference to peoples’ lives who are suffering from dry skin. We believe that by spreading the word of AVEENO®, we will be able to help more and more people enjoy the benefits of healthier-looking and feeling skin.

A while back, I applied to be an Aveeno Discoverer (The usual filling out a form malarkey). Months went by and I completely forgot about it until one day I had an email saying I'd been accepted! My profile says I have been a member since March, but I got the email in June so don't know what happened there! Within the next few weeks, my welcome package arrived, along with another to give to a friend or family member.
Here are the products I have received in my welcome package:

Daily Moisturising Lotion with Lavender, Skin Relief Moisturising Lotion, Daily Moisturising Lotion and Hand Cream.

I'm not too keen on the smell of Lavender but hopefully it is subtle enough to use.
I'm really excited to start using these products because I've only recently got into moisturising regularly.
Reviews on these products will be up in a few weeks :)

I have been accepted on to the AVEENO® Discoverer Programme, helping to spread the word about AVEENO® products. I get sent free AVEENO®samples and have the possibility of being rewarded with additional benefits.

Playing around

Last night I was incredibly bored so what better way to kill some time than to paint your face with pretty colours?

What I used:
  • Beauty UK eyeshadow palette number 2. I used the green across the lid and the light pearly blue in the inner corner.
  • Barry M Dazzle Dust in Teal for the outer edge and lower lash line.
  • Old eye-shadow as a highlighter (Very useful for you I know :P)
  • NYC Liquid Liner in Black.
  • Natural Collection's Lash Length Mascara in Black.
I know it's not very good but I was just playing around. I also don't like to create make-up looks because for them to look good, you need a 'good shaped/normal' face; as you can see, I have hugeee cheeks haha

New addition to the family

One of my local florists are selling small cacti for 99p again! I've found that they only sell these a few months in the summer. They had all shapes and sizes but I thought I'd go for an Aloe Vera. The left picture is him all cramped in the pot he was sold in and the right picture is him in his new home! The ceramic pot is from Wilkinsons for around 30p. I'm going to go back to the florists in the next few days to pick up another couple of cacti's. I now have six, the other five being 2 years old :)

Ins and Outs

It's the beginning of the month so I thought I'd do the classic Ins and Outs post :)

In:
  • MY STRETCH MARKS ARE GOING! You have no idea how happy I am! I had dark purple marks on my hips and bum and in the last few days they've gone - poof! I think it's pretty amazing as it's such a short time. I think it's partly to do with the mind; thinking they're going so they do. This week I've also been using Palmer's cocoa butter formula but for one, I don't think any product would get rid of stretch marks that quickly and two, I don't see how a moisturiser could fade away the purple marks.
  • I've just been contacted by Superdrug to review a few Bloom cosmetics. I haven't heard much of this brand before but I went on their site (Australian site though boo!) and the products look pretty good. I also read that Bloom cosmetics came to the UK for a while and then went again, but their now in a few selected Superdrug stores :)
  • Ordering from Whsmith haha, I love shopping and since I can remember I have loved stationary.. even more so than make-up actually as I love being creative and have a soft spot for it (Brings back the memories of buying packs and packs of coloured card and gel pens when I was 8 haha). I ordered a few chunky notebooks which are reaaalllyyy pretty, a pencil case (I always used to buy pretty pencil cases but for the last year I've had a standard clear one which is ok but not pretty to look at in class!) and a 50 pack of wallets for my folders. I didn't need them but had to spend a few extra pounds for free delivery.
  • My followers! Look at you all! & it makes me happy that I have my followers because they are interested in my blog. That's why I'm not sure whether to do a giveaway because I don't want people joining just for free stuff, I like the fact that I've got these followers on my own.
  • My body. My confidence has increased a lot and I think I've got a great body :)
  • Samples! I've ordered sooo many samples! I love getting post, even if it's something small. I did fib on a few things though; I said I was a company to get a load of free Areo hot chocolate samples and I said I was a new mum to get a polar bear teddy.. haha

Out:
  • Money, again haha
  • No work experience. I cancelled the place at my nans because I worked there in year ten so I have nothing to add to my personal statement. It also has nothing to do with what course I want to do at University. Good news: I have the week off next week, bad news: I have to find work experience some other time this year. This will be hard as it's not easy finding somewhere which will take work experience and I'm shy.

That's it I think! This is really the Ins and Outs of today as your mood changes day to day. By tomorrow I will probably hate my body and think I have no friends haha

June Favourites!

My first favourites post! I know you're excited ;)

  • Barry M Dazzle Dusts (Mushroom and Teal pictured above). Normal price £4.50 but I got these free with the vouchers More were giving away in their magazine. They are extremely pigmented and beaaautttiful!

  • The Body Shop's Vitamin E Cleansing Bar. The best cleanser I have ever used; lathers well, literally leaves your face squeaky clean and your skin feeling soft. Review can be found here!

  • ELF's All Over Color Stick. I've had these since last year but rarely used them. Well in the month of June I've been wearing them every day, especially Lilac Petal (Which I think is a better highlighter than Spotlight). They give my cheek bones the most beautiful glow! Review can be found here.

  • Natural Collection's Blush in Pink Cloud - The perfect everyday pink blush. Looks natural and is very pigmented, all for the grand total of £1.95.

  • Natural Collection's Mascara's (Lash Length which is pictured above and Waterguard). Again these are just £1.95 and surprisingly good. I think they work just as well as Maybelline mascara's. Review can be found here for Lash Length Mascara and the Waterguard does what it says on the tube :)
  • Moisturising in general - I'm not one to moisturise, bad I know and in the winter months I didn't feel the need because my legs were covered away and getting fury ;) but now the sun is out (Well was) I've been shaving my legs a lot and wearing shorts, resulting in me moisturising. But now I have actually got into it and moisturise every night! Cannot wait to buy a few body butters which I'll actually use!
  • Nail varnish - This changes every month depending on how short my nails are but recently they have been growing nicely so I've had the chance to wear many beautiful colours :D

Thank you for reading :)

Oh and I would like to say Hello to Joshie poooos!
(He's a friend who recently found out about my blog and now stalks my every move :P)
